As a traveller it is inconvenient to carry a bulky set of amplified speakers so enter Edifier's new 'Sound To Go' - extremely portable USB powered amplified speakers. Weighing a tiny 330gms this triangle/wedge shaped speaker system is 26cm long (4cm shorter than a sheet of A4 paper) and 3.6cm high (at the apex).
It has two mid range speakers, two tweeters and asub-woofer for very respectable 2x2W of sound - certainly enough to listen to music or a movie. It plugs into a USB port (PC or Mac and only needs this cable to power the unit to provide sound). It also has an AUX 3.5mm stereo input for use with iPad/iPhone/MP3 (you need a USB power source). Volume control is via a single button - tap to increase and press to decrease. It comes with a nice soft slip-cover to protect it in transit.
Verdict - Love it, must have it.
